XWE Chapter 2

Chapter 2: Engagement

The head of the Bai family cried out, “Stop, stop.” Lu Feng’s entire body was once again surrounded by people. Unable to slip away, he could only turn around and look at the Bai family’s head, afterwards he explained, “Bai family head, I think this piece of paper was wrongly given by my master, I will return and ask him about it.”

The Bai family head frowned and turned the paper over to the back, “Take a look.” Lu Feng was puzzled and went over to take a look, containing the urge to spout out a string of vulgarities, he could only bitterly smile, at the back of paper there was a small line of words, “This is a real message, do not doubt it, let them be married in three days, if not the little miss might have a problem.”

“Look, young monk, it’s definitely genuine.” the Bai Family head said frustratedly. Lu Feng wanted to find an excuse to escape but the Bai Family head glanced at the retainers. “Bring the young monk back to the house.”

The retainers then nodded, escorting Lu Feng through the door.The Bai family’s young master then sighed feeling reluctant to accept the engagement, but he didn’t want his sister to die. He could only agree and say “Father, do you want me to prepare the wedding?”

The Bai family’s head nodded  his head slightly, “En, after all we are part of Qinglong town, one of the town’s largest family, this time marrying off our daughter will definitely be a large event, go prepare a list of items and the day after tomorrow we will have the wedding.”

“Yes.” The Bai family’s young master answered, then taking a glance at Lu Feng’s face before helplessly sighing and leaving. The Bai family’s head turned to his wife, “Go tell the housekeeper to bring some clothes for him to change into, otherwise how could he meet anyone.”

The Bai family’s mistress sounded off in resignation and turned around to leave, the Bai family’s head then said to the restrained Lu Feng, “Go take a bath.” Saying this, the retainers then brought Lu Feng to the Bai family’s bathhouse.

Lu Feng looked at the large building before him, and upon hearing the sound of the flowing water inside, he sighed, “The Bai family’s bathhouse is really completely different.” Upon remembering that for the past 6 months he had been using river water and herbal leaves to wash himself, Lu Feng couldn’t wait to go in and enjoy the bath.

It can be thought of as them forcing the little miss to get married. Lu Feng started to worry, he started to imagine the little miss had an image that resembles a pig’s face, a waist the size of a pot, thighs as huge as an elephant’s, just thinking about it made Lu Feng wanted to faint.

He hurriedly asked those who were guarding him, “Everyone, does your young miss really look as ugly as the children say?” The guards laughed in amusement, Lu Feng depressingly said, “Come on guys, soon I’m going to become your uncle, treat me with a little more respect.”

Then a voice was heard from far away, “You really think you can be the genuine son ah.”Lu Feng curiously looked over, there was a slight hunchbacked baldie,  with a mole on his mouth and small shifty eyes, it only took one look for Lu Feng to determine that he was an ugly fellow.

When the retainers and escorts saw this man,they respectfully called out, ”Housekeeper liu.” when Lu Feng heard these words he determined that it was the Bai Family’s housekeeper, but he heard rumors that this housekeeper was not bad, he helped the Bai Family earn a large amount of income, except his temper was horrible, in the Bai Family he thinks of himself as a big uncle, many people were kicked out by him.

Also, the seriously injured will go to the Immortal Cloud Mountain to find the Old Man, that’s why Lu Feng could understand this situation. He just didn’t expect that upon meeting these people, they were worse than the rumours, as for housekeeper Liu, who was formerly called Liu Guang. He stared at Lu Feng with eyes that looked as though they would swallow him whole, “Young one, look at me, and stay quiet.”

Lu Feng made a wo sound, “Housekeeper Liu.” Housekeeper Liu as if he was dissatisfied said, “Let me warn you, entering our Bai Family, you need to follow my rules, understood?”

Housekeeper Liu staringly said, “You dare to rebut?” The guards saw that Lu Feng was in trouble, as expected Housekeeper Liu turned to the guards, “Come men, slap him!” Those guards dared not, after all Lu Feng was soon going to become the son-in-law, if they slapped him they would be goners.

Housekeeper Liu saw that these people weren’t moving, angrily said. “What? You guys think he can save the little miss? Become the son in law? Stop dreaming, he is just swindler, the immortal’s prescription is also a fake.”

No one dared to doubt the Immortal Cloud Mountain’s old man, so everyone just lowered their head and stood in silence. Housekeeper Liu fumed, “Good you guys don’t want to obey? Later, go pack up your things.” Housekeeper Liu walked forward, his hand was still in the air when a voice was heard, “The mistress has arrived.”

Then housekeeper Liu immediately turned around and a figure was seen along the hallway, which was the Bai mistress, behind her a maid was seen carrying a pile of clothes, after seeing that housekeeper Liu had arrived she then said, “Housekeeper Liu, you are here ah, that’s great let me tell you something till this day I still do not know what he is called.”

Lu Feng reluctantly replied, “I’m called Lu Feng, but mistress I’m not the prescription you are looking for, you can just let me off.”Housekeeper Liu hearing that Lu Feng was not intending to stay had a brilliant idea in mind, “Mistress you can see that he despises the young miss, why not confine him for a few days.”

The Bai mistress’s eyebrows were frowning, “Forget it, he is still the living Immortal’s disciple, why not let him bathe and change into good clothes then send him to the young miss’s garden, the little one is still there.”

Everyone looked at each other in distressed,  they had already started to foreshadow what was going to happen, as for Lu Feng he was urging everyone that he did not want to have the luxurious bath and clothing, after changing clothes he was then sent to the garden.

Oddly enough this garden did not have a single guard, with only a main door. The guard opened the door and let Lu Feng in, Lu Feng saw only an empty large garden, baffled he exclaimed “The young miss could stop hiding.”

Just when Lu Feng was suspicious whether the young miss was here, a voice was heard, “Come in please.” When Lu Feng heard that frail voice secretly muttered under his breath, “The voice does not resemble any fat girl ah.” When Lu Feng was wondering whether to walk over, that same voice said “Any questions to ask?”

Lu Feng immediately started doing his flattering speech, this was what he was good at, then he smiled, “Bai young lady, I don’t have any medical ability, this is thanks to my master, that’s why you should go see my master instead, don’t make me the son-in-law anymore, that is what my damned Old Man master taught me.”

“What? You don’t want to marry me?” That voice had a tint of curiosity in it, Lu Feng laughed and said, “Of course not, everyone knows Bai young lady is not someone any ordinary person can court, in addition if my master didn’t shelter me, I would just be a beggar, that’s why, young lady Bai should have a husband, which isn’t me, because I can’t perform any medical treatment, all because my master coaxed me, you bring me back to the mountain now, I will definitely let him explain to you.”

The sound suddenly stopped, no word was spoken, Lu Feng then asked. “Is something the matter?”

Then the voice asked again, “Say for yourself, how to solve this.” Lu Feng immediately talked about the vile behaviour of the old man, then he talked about this mornings bet with him about buying fried chicken, when he finished he didn’t forget to add, “Look, this damned old man, what kind of living immortal, he completely fooled you.When I look at miss Bai can still let me go or else your life will be ruined.”

However after his rant the voice giggled, Lu Feng was puzzled, “Miss Bai, what are you laughing at.” From behind the garden appeared a woman laughing, “I’m laughing at your master, how did he take in such a disciple.”

Lu Feng reluctantly said, ”Because he is heartless, you can’t blame me.” The woman curiously asked,”What you are saying is interesting.” Lu Feng saw that his coaxing worked, continuing, “Young miss Bai, I am someone without any ability, so being honest you should send me back to the mountains.I already proved for you to see, how sloppy the old man is.”

“There’s no use, I have already experienced it.”

Lu Feng was curious and asked. “You already experienced it?” That woman replied, “Yes.” Lu Feng could not understand when this young miss had visited the Immortal Cloud Mountain, after all the old man had never went down the mountain, but he was still thinking of escaping this place. He laughed and asked, “Since I’ve met young miss Bai, can you let me go now?”

“No, you can’t leave.”

Lu Feng was distressed, “Young miss Bai, I have already said so much, you should have already realised his bad behaviour, he is definitely tricking you guys, why not let me go?”

“Because he is actually a living immortal.”

Lu Feng felt as though his body was split in two by a bolt of lightning, it was a while before he came to his senses, “No way, young miss Bai, didn’t you say just now.”

“Good, on the day after tomorrow we will get married, but the marriage contract you’ll have to look through it.Also from today onwards you shall live in the house next to mine,”

At this moment a piece of paper and a key flew towards Lu Feng. He didn’t even see a shadow and only saw those two items fall towards him. Lu Feng’s had not come back to reality when he saw those large words, ‘Engagement Contract’.Puzzled, he squatted down and suddenly he was dumbfounded. “What is this ah.”

He saw what was written on it, “After getting married, can’t be in the same room; second condition after getting married, not to use the Bai family’s son-in-law title, third condition,must leave the Bai family.”

After seeing these three sentences, Lu Feng immediately understood and muttered.”Is this a fake marriage? En definitely a fake marriage, I finally understand now.” Lu Feng wondered why this Bai young miss wanted a fake marriage.

But just the thought of a fake marriage, moreover becoming the Bai Family’s son-in-law and not having to return to that damnable old man made his whole body feel contented.Except just thinking about having to sleep with a fat girl, getting married and also having children, brought him out in cold sweat.

He happily picked up the key while grinning, “Now I will go take a look at my place, and see if compared to that broken mountain’s stone slab is any better.”

Just thinking about the stone slab made Lu Feng fume in rage because that old man wouldn’t let him sleep on a cushioned bed.He still dared to say sleeping on the slab can temper’s one body.Lu Feng remembered how every time at midnight he would shiver excessively, still want to temper my ass. Now that he finally has a soft bed to sleep on, he definitely would not go back.

Excited he gratefully took the key and went looking for the house inside the garden, until he saw two houses side by side, one with nice decorations on the house and outside with a lot of flowers.In front of the other house was patches of dead grass, that house looked run-down, just a slight breeze and the house might topple over. Exactly resembling a deserted cabin in the wilderness.

Seeing this, Lu Feng froze, “My goodness, it can’t be, this shabby house?” At this moment came a sound from the luxurious house next door, “If I don’t tell you to, there is not to be any yelling.”

Lu Feng now know there were people eavesdropping, he could only reluctantly sigh.Upon unlocking the house door and entering he could see that there was not a single piece of furniture to be seen.

Seeing this scene, he was dumbfounded. “No way, my room in the mountains at least has a stone bed, there isn’t even a piece of cloth here.” This time Lu Feng almost went insane, angrily stomping on the ground. Rolling up his sleeves and cursing, “I am a man that also has his bottom line, what is the meaning of this, I need to bring young miss Bai and settle this.”

Not knowing whether the stomp was too powerful, Lu Feng’s body felt unsteady, he cursed in his heart, “Not good, broken house.” Soon there was a rumbling sound, Lu Feng was crushed from the top of the head by numerous stones, being buried in a pile of rubble.

In the building next door a woman gently opened the door and came out, looking at the scene she shouted out, “Are you okay?”

Lu Feng not only was he not injured, he was stuck in an underground cellar, and to make matters worse he saw many items, these items were paintings, masterpieces alike. Lu Feng clicked his tongue and said, “If these were taken back to earth, they would definitely fetch a sky high price.”

It was only later when Lu Feng remembered that he was in another world, he grudgingly put down the paintings,he then came across a strange painting. It was a sheet of fur, drawn on this fur was only a single circle, Lu Feng curiously inspected it, it appeared to be nothing much, but as he looked closer at it he became more fascinated, not only that., that circle looked as though as it was gradually spinning, before turning into a spiral.

Lu Feng felt as if his body was attracted to that spiral, shockingly he said, “Don’t I only have to pass through it? Great, I can finally go back!”
